After photography the images cannot be perfect every time for web and print usage. Most of the time, they miss hitting the bull's eye. Captured images often have many unwanted things within the frame. Location and lighting arrangements also often do not match perfectly with the theme. That makes it imperative to edit images to suit the need or theme for which they are being used. Many times image needs to be altered in a different way to get the best out of it.
Color correction, background correction, soft masking, clipping path etc are image editing services that are currently being utilized to modify images. Even a bad image can be brought to life after applying these corrections and editing tools. Image editing can remove unwanted items from the frame, alter color combinations and change background.

What is clipping path?
Clipping path allows an image editor to define a path. Portion of the image inside this path, can be cut out, edited and used in different application. The cutout portion can be pasted on different backgrounds. It is surprising to note how the same image can look different after altering backgrounds or applying color corrections.
The portion outside the path can be deleted. This technique draws virtual outline around the desired image or its portion that needs to be extracted from the rest of the image. The boundary of the path can be reversed to change the reference of inside and outside.
Clipping paths are very helpful in isolating an object from an image. Over the years, the scope and use of this technique has expanded to achieve precision and meet unique requirements. Depending on their complexity, there are various types of clipping paths; as under:
• Simple • Compound • Multiple • Extra • Complex
As per the functions it carries out, it is also known by various names, like cropping service, cutout service, background removal service, etc.
